It is 2017, clearly the year of the UX mix-up. The UX designer in me is intrigued the way websites are evolving. The biggest trends I am spotting in the web design community is the concept of “Navigation First.”

What is Navigation First?

Most people are used to going to websites and finding a Responsive multi-level dropdown navigation bar, or even the trendier hamburger menu, as just one of the components that fit neatly into the overall design. Navigation First says, “Bump the rest of the page layout – the most important thing the user needs to see is clear navigation.”

One simple example can be found on MESS HALL ( A foodie festival in Minneapolis promo site. I think this site is exceptional in that while the navigation options are super simple they encase it in a full screen panel with foody iconography parallaxing with your mouse movement in the background.

I think that the “Navigation First” concept may have legs. What do you think?

Goza Tequila

Branded Website - June 2016

When I met Gabe and the rest of the team at Ringer I really felt like they could bring my site to the next level. They brought plenty of ideas to the table in our first consultation. That never stopped throughout the process of building the site out. That’s why we ended up with such a great website, custom to us. I’M HAPPY I HIRED A RINGER.

"While working with Ringer, they always kept me abreast of what was going on with the project. I never had to ask what was happening. They always kept me informed. The website is way better then I ever dreamed of. I would highly recommend Ringer to work on your project."
